Jumla to Dunai
Start of the Trip: Kathmandu
End of the Trip: Kathmandu
Seasons: March - October
Maximum Elevation: 3820m.
This Jumla to Dunai trek takes you across one of the most remote regions of the country, so make sure you are physically and mentally prepared and well equipped before embarking on this adventures trek. As accommodations and foods are sparse, you will be provided with tents, porters and cooks. There are several attractive prehistoric places to visit along the way. One of the few attractions of this trip is the visit to crystal clear stream of the rivers of Tila and Chaudhabise, and also the beautiful meadows of Pattyata Lagna. You will also have ample opportunity to interact and learn about the inhabitants of Chotra and Khampas who originally migrated from eastern Tibet. The inhabitants interestingly practice both Buddhism and Hinduism together, and despite cultural and religious differences people here have lived in peace since time immemorial. Tibetan mani walls, caravans of yaks and few tea houses will be seen throughout the trail. The trek ends at Dunai, the capital of Dolpo district. Trek for another 3 hours to reach from Dunai to reach Jhupal airport.
