Nar – Phu

Start of the Trip: Kathmandu
End of the Trip: Kathmandu
Duration: 11-14 Days
Difficulty: Medium – Hard
Hotels: Basic
Seasons: May – October
Maximum Elevation: 5320m

The region was opened for tourists from the year 2002. The route also lies closely to Annapurna Circuit. If you wish you may visit the Manang region, or interpolate with the Manaslu trekking route. Trekking around this region is best during September and October, and the areas are snow bound during November to May. Accommodations are very basic, and camping is permitted only at given campsites. Many of the lands are protected by ACAP. As the region falls under restricted area, a fee needs to be paid to enter the area. Begin the journey by boarding a bus or plane from Kathmandu’s bus park towards Besi Sahar or get there from Pokhara via Dumre. Follow the Annapurna circuit trail for the first four days to reach from Besi Sahar to Koto. Then follow the journey through the Nar Phu trail. In this trek you will come across medieval villages, lovely gorges, and see monstrous peaks of 7000m and above. You will be going across strings of gompas and chortens such as the Guru Choling Gompa, Kunsel Dechen Choling Gompa, and Sadik Chorten.
